As digitalization continues to expand, there has been a significant increase in cyber-attacks on software and systems. In response to this, there is now an urgent demand for competent cyber security professionals who can safeguard the confidentiality, availability and integrity of data for companies, organizations and government agencies.
The IU International University of Applied Sciences offers an online Master's program in Cyber Security that provides all the necessary skills to protect data and ensure top-level security measures for global businesses. This program focuses on developing specialized skills in safeguarding infrastructures against attacks, risks, and malware using statistical and digital forensic methods.
The program is structured as a consecutive 120-ECTS curriculum.

In order to become a proficient cyber security professional, you need to possess a fundamental understanding of contemporary operating systems and distributed cloud applications, as well as be well-versed in software forensics and data analysis techniques. Upon successful completion of the online Master's programme in Cyber Security, you will become a highly sought-after professional with exceptional qualifications to promptly respond to cyber threats using forensic methods. With both technical and interpersonal skills, you will be equipped to manage and oversee crucial security architectures, as well as provide valuable recommendations to optimize cyber security for companies and teams. Your expertise will enable you to secure leadership positions in your organization, where you will oversee security measures and facilitate digital transformations based on "security by design." Additionally, you may collaborate with external agencies to identify and prevent criminal activities.
As an IT security architect, you'll assume responsibility for a company's technical architectures and establish protocols and work systems for data protection and information security. You'll provide support to IT departments in planning and executing security-by-design and ensure that the company's IT systems are secure.
As a security manager, you will be responsible for safeguarding IT systems from potential threats and identifying any vulnerabilities that may leave them exposed. You will need to ensure that security measures are regularly updated and aligned with the latest industry standards. You can opt to adopt either a preventive or proactive approach to cyber security and develop strategies to mitigate and manage the risks of potential attacks for your company.
As a cyber forensics analyst, you will be responsible for compiling IT forensic reports for internal company use, cyber security audits, and even court cases. Your role will involve investigating and uncovering all types of digital criminal activities, such as software piracy and data manipulation.

How To Start Your Degree with the Scholarship Programme:
Once you've enrolled and started on your studies, you'll have access to a part of your courses, based on the time model you choose. You will be registered as a student only after 50% of the total ECTS have been successfully completed. Then you will gain access to the rest of your courses, and will be able to finish your degree.
The admissions documents must be provided in English or German, if they were not issued in one of these two languages, a translation is required. If you need to translate your documents, we can help refer you to our trusted translation partners. You can find more details here.
Admission Requirements for 120-ECTS:
- Completed, undergraduate degree with 180 ECTS with a focus on computer science, IT security, business informatics, theoretical computer science, applied computer science, computer engineering, media informatics or an information science related subjects with at least 180 ECTS and at least 30 ECTS explicitly in the field of computer science
- Your degree must be from a state or state-recognised higher education institution/university
- You must have achieved a final grade of at least “satisfactory” or Grade C equivalent in your previous undergraduate degree

Start in our Scholarship Programme as a participant with immediate access to 50% of your courses. You can do this by taking our Entrance Examination which will be included in your course as part of the Scholarship Programme. Once you have handed in all admission documents and the courses are completed, you can go on to finish your degree.

Is your undergraduate degree not in the required subject field for this programme's 120 ECTS points variation admission requirements? You can still apply! You'll have to take 2 specific courses at the start of your studies, and pass them successfully in order to continue with your studies. That way, you don't have to take an entrance examination, and can prove your skills while earning ECTS points as part of your studies.
For admission, a minimum of 30 ECTS points in Computer Science must have been achieved additionally in undergraduate study programmes. For applicants who do not meet this requirement, modules from the university's Bachelor's degree programmes are offered as bridging courses for free

- Equivalent proof, such as a B2.2 Certificate from the free IU English course - further information can be requested from our student advisors.*
